Mine didnt literally break down the minute I got them, I was simply surprised at how delicate the sidewalls are compared to other supple tires.
Its a pretty common complaint on forums- Pasela sidewalls easily abraded.

But man i love the way they look. Just a sharp looking tire on 80s road bikes.
