A local house had a couple of roadies that left their bikes locked up on the front porch. I was a bit shocked but locally thefts are low & one can set up alarms I guess. I've locked up bikes outside for years, only theft was from a DC workplace & luckily it was a bargain bike. BTW in Virginia if a thief steals a bike over $200 value they're liable to felony grand larceny charges. Maryland or DC has $1,000 limit.
afraid to say it's a common thing here in Ireland thiefs are on the lookout seems all the time,
there latest trick is to target were all the roadies stop for coffee then they march in as bold as brass dressed as a cyclist and ride of with the very best of bikes .these scumbags know if there caught they will more than likely get off with a light fine and a caution.
