It is interesting that the Vello designer uses common sense and apparently listens to potential customers. Early design did not cover the drivetrain and employed belt drive. Now the drivetrain is to be covered and belt drive is offered as an option. Many designers are so enamored in their designs that they are oblivious to what the customers want.
