Rider positioning on C&V conversion, road bike to upright
OK, in another topic I mentioned my 1974ish Falcon (a gift) which I've converted to an Errands Bike for local shopping, etc. Indeed, used for its intended purpose for the first time just this morning. (Note: again tried to provide a photo but "Upload of file failed", it's not telling me why).
Anyway, I noticed a lot of load on my hands, way too high % of my weight is on the grips (Velo Orange Postino bars, BTW), actually felt discomfort after a few miles. Looking for ideas on a weight shift. The seat is comfortably set and the center of the bars is 3" below the top of the seat. Tip of seat to center of bars is 21", my elbow to tip of finger is 2" short of that (I have long legs, short torso and arms). Seat is slid all the way forward on post, it looks like I might have an inch of travel rearward. There might be some chance to raise the bars a wee bit.
Anyway, recommendation on what change(s) might shift my weight off the bars? Slide the seat back?
This is my first bike without drop bars since 1968, comfortable other than this problem, but I'm just not used to them.
