"better" is going to be subjective. Is a grabby brake better than one that is predictable, but takes more force?
I think rim brakes feather better. They provide better feedback in what you hear and see. They are vastly superior for wheel changes.
My experience with discs is that they are less "grabby" and more predictable. That's the main benefit, IMO.
