This New member found this old post trying to learn the difference between fuji's elios 1 and elios 2 steel. Looks like elios 1 is hi tensile. Questionis, should I buy the frame?
1. It has a life time warranty.... hmmm thats nice of them.
2. I own a 1965 chicago schwiin continental and a worksman crusier. Both Use the same hi tensile steel. How do I know? I spoke with the top guys at worksman. The day, the schwinn chicago factory closed, worskman bought their tooling and wheel building supplies. Why do I mention this?
3. I was knocked by another cyclist and was abruptly directed down over 50 steps on my chicago schwinn. The frame felt like it was bouncing down the stairs like a rubberband, THE END RESULT FOR THIS 230POUND RIDER and his continental? Sore groin and a perfectly straight bike.
4. The worksman gets jumped off curbs, small stairs, big pot holes and its fine.
Conclusion? Chromoly is great for serious jumps (ex bmx owner here) and hi tensile steel (when used with the right geometry) is a great, durable comfy ride.
I wuv u guys!
