About 10 years ago, a co-worker gave me a beat up bike frame. The serial numbers were still intact and legible, so I didn't fear for it being stolen. I have been doing some research lately, but have hit a wall. I was told the frame was an older Gary Fisher, but have had no way to verify this, and I'm hoping you can help. Do these numbers mean anything to anybody? My local bike shop can't/won't help me out. I can certainly post some pictures of they help.
I bought a rather battered yellow Gary Fisher Piranha steel frame few years ago for next to nothing just to ride locally & not worry too much if it got stolen. It had blow out soon after & it's been hanging on a rack in my garage ever since. Just got it fixed up yesterday with new tyres etc - running fine. It's serial numbers are: 00000436S WTU. Other way up: GBI-1123. Below that: GU927052. Was wondering if 92 referred to it's year. I'm in UK.
