My Torpado is much steeper than my Lemond or my Canopus...but they are all set up this way.
This would give you the same fitting for your lower-body position on all your bikes, but they might not fit the same for your upper body because of the differences in top tube and stem lengths. I do think it's the right way to set your saddle position once you know which one works best, but just don't expect all your bikes will feel the same.
