New bottom bracket in old racing bicycle
Hi,
I recently succeeded in getting the fixed cup off of my bike and now I can replace the whole thing. But because I don't know that much about bottom brackets, I don't really know which one I should consider.
What I know is that it has to be 68mm long and BSA threaded. Other than that I'd like it to be as durable and smooth as possible. Also because it is a vintage racing bike, it should be fast as well.
I don't know if there are other things to consider, great bearings and greasing should already be fitted in quality bottom brackets I suppose?
In terms of budget, I would go to about 100 euro's. I find quality more important than saving money here and there. If there are interesing packages like brackets together with the rest of the drivetrain (chain, crankset, cassette,...) That would also be great.
Thanks!
Luke
