There's "perfect color match" and there's "not exactly". "Not exactly" not only tends to look like crap, but it also draws your attention to the blemish. In other words, it's worse than doing nothing.

I used to have a couple of higher end bikes - one with a fade paint job, the other with DuPont Shadeshifter paint so there was no possibility of touch up matching. I tried using clear fingernail polish on some scratches. I've never used anything else since.
