Do you realize that your behavior here is harassing a guy who is trying to do the right thing? For what?
I'm betting if you think about this you can figure it out for yourself...
1. A zunow sticks out in a way that a varsity doesn't.
2. Bike theft will happen regardless of what the OP does...there's too little risk in stealing a bike...but he's trying to unite an example that sticks out with a likely grieving owner.
3. This bike will be difficult to replace fpr the owner...a Raleigh Sprite less so. It doesn't mean the Sprite doesn't hurt the owner, but it's a lot harder to ID and prove.
4. The op, by helping here, could, theoretically, help bust a thief and return any number of bikes to owners. It's not likely, but it sure doesn't hurt to try.
With all of the gross injustice in the world, is this fight really worth it? Against a guy trying to flag a bike that's likely stolen in a logical place to find the owner? Most of us know bikes, and our cities, well enough to flag what's a likely issue without needing to be 100% sure. No one arrested the guy.
