I like the speed of the TREK FX3, which I just tested,but want to do rails to trails and bike paths. I am between the Trek Nicko , CANNANDALE ADVENTURE and the Trek Verve. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I had an extension pit on the handle bar to give more of a comfort feel. I think the nicko felt the fastest but I am confused. The entry hybrids did not seem fast enough on flat pavement. Please help
Trek FX can do bike paths and rail trails no problem. Probably not technical MTB trails, but none of the listed alternatives can either. The other bikes you mentioned (Verve/Neko/Cannondale Adventure) are more upright/comfort hybrids. You can put wider/knobbier tires on the FX if you need.
