I have used the Shimano Saint MX80 Flat Pedals on my Mountain Bike since 2014 and got another set for my Hybrid/Fitness bike too. They are that good. I doubt I would ever use anything else. You can adjust the pins depending on how much grip you want. I've ridden these with Nike shoes, Merrell hiking shoes and most of the time Shimano urban shoes (clip removed) and the pedals have handled it all as well as my weight like a champ. Even the pedals on the MTB have taken a beating from rocks and such and show no sign of wearing down.
