Actually Rohloff's are warmer. I haven't measured them but in general, planetary gears are less efficient than derailleur systems and therefore generate more heat. And being an enclosed unit, it has less cooling. None of this an issue at all unless the rider is massively strong, but still, I just want to keep the record straight.
