Rookie fit questions to look for on a test ride?

So I've got a caadx on order with the lbs , i asked them for a 46 frame as the standover is 29.5" and my inseam per my measurement was 29" no matter how hard i shoved the tape up there lol. Also for reference i'm 5'3" tall. So assuming i wasnt getting the tape far enough i'd say at an absolute max i may have a 30" inseam so i decided the 46 would be the best starting point. My last bike bought was a hardtail with only a few frames so it was an easy choice as i prefer a mtb to be smaller.

I know fit well enough to get the saddle height right where it needs but beyond that i have no experience with road(ish) bikes. I feel like i'm probably on the edge sizing wise. What should i pay attention to on the test ride ? What are signs i need to go up a size ? I expect i will be able to tell by my reach to the bars ?
