When I got out of the bicycle business in 1982 there was very little in the way of disc brakes other than a cable actuated disc brake used on the Schwinn Manta Ray as an option for a couple of years and a rudimentary (and heavy) hydraulic system developed by Shimano.

I currently ride a hybrid bike with Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes. I ride on streets and paved paths almost exclusively and seldom in the rain or wet conditions. I am a hefty guy weighing in at 270. What would be best for replacement pads for my bike? Ceramic or Organic?
