Going only 10-12 mph I don't know if you could really consider yourself a cyclist according to many on these forums because in order to be a real cyclist you must go as fast and as far as possible otherwise they look down their noses at you. Your merely saying that you ride slow will annoy them. So in that case I'd say, go right ahead.
