A left side bike lane on a one-way road is functionally similar to a right-side bike lane. The intersections are the issues, and leaving the bike lane when approaching those areas (like the bridge) is the best remedy. More "protection" makes matters worse because this confines the cyclist to the bike lane until the point of conflict/impact.
The plastic bollards do not make matters worse, while the high speed (effectively mid-block) entrance ramp makes matters worse.
And the left side of a one-way street is not a terrible place to ride.
