They have been doing CX races around the US for over 20-30 years.. usually both weekend days at the UCI events. I'm sure that most organizers set up a deal that they will do repair work. They won't be invited back to the venue if they trash the place so it is in their interest to fix things up.
our local shop does a weekly training race at a park.. they don't do the same course every time so the wear and tear gets spread out. even the bigger races will switch up some of the course for day 2
Again, sure, any reasonable organization is going to make sure they don't abuse their host venue, so to speak. Just like crits and other sanctioned road races have marshals and closed courses. The problem is all the random delinquent kidults that really have to be told to get offa my lawn! Not unlike the ones who make a nuisance of themselves racing where they shouldn't.
