This is an interesting thread, or hope it will be. I am about to do a water slide decal installation, on my Rabeneick and hope to have a solid procedure to follow when the time comes.

I plan to use an automotive lacquer that has a clear top coat cover. Clear the whole frame(frame is chrome plated), to start. Then mask and shoot color. Then water slide decals(getting them from Gus Soloman) and then clear coat again(two or more coats) followed by a careful polishing.

I had hoped to have the paint work, and art, done by now but the Rabeneick frame still sits in Duluth, waiting for it to reach me. A friend will bring it to Canada when she, and her husband, come to visit. I am on pins and needles waiting but waiting, and anticipating, is, actually, part of the fun.

Anyway, I hope other forum member chime in on this thread. I would like to learn a bit more before I bite the costly decal purchase...
