OP......Why didn't you just clear coat the entire frame? No edge then to worry about. Otherwise you need to give yourself enough room to polish the edge down with rubbing compound. But that means polishing on the paint too. Removing the tape immediately after spraying will help let the wet edge round off. But lacquer dries so quick, you have to be quicker.
Questions for those that have clear coated with Lacquer over decals. Where they vinyl water slides? Thick or very thin? Did it bubble the vinyl?
I'm wanting to spray my old bike with lacquer because lacquer is so easy and quick to work with. But many of the decal makers caution against lacquer. I've seen some people that suggest very light initial coats of lacquer will keep the vinyl decals for dissolving. Thoughts?
