The Sasquatch is too big of a creature to remain uncaught, uncaptured, "unshot and drug to town" for so long. The Patterson footage was a man in a suit. At the very least you should be able to find the creature's dung (it may sound dumb but zoologists are REALLY huge and studying animal via their excrement) and some more recent fossils.
Bigfoot is a very real phenomenon. But it isn't for zoology. It is a phenomenon of mass psycology. Same thing goes for Chupacabra, Crop Circles, Yeti, Champ and the Lochness Monster. It only takes a few hoaksters and a LOT of honest imagination to keep these phenomenon going.
The fact that Native Americans believed in Sasquatch is no evidence whatsoever. You don't think that Indians had snarky pranksters too???
