Bikes: 1940s Fothergill, 1959 Allegro Special, 1963? Claud Butler Olympic Sprint, Lambert 'Clubman', 1974 Fuji "the Ace", 1976 Holdsworth 650b conversion rando bike, 1983 Trek 720 tourer, 1984 Counterpoint Opus II, 1993 Basso Gap, 2010 Downtube 8h, and...

For what it's worth, here's my commuter bike:

Old Sturmey Archer three speed hub. Sanyo dynamo hub, LED lights always on. Soma "Lauterwasser" handlebar (which is vaguely similar to a Lauterwasser bar). The handlebar looks somewhat like a moustache bar, but it fits more like a drop bar. Important thing about the bar, it measures 22.2 mm so will take a twist grip shifter made for an upright bar.

This is the kind of thing you can do, if you're willing to find the parts (often quite cheap) and put the thing together yourself.
