I recall one trip relatively close to the Mt St Helens area (before she blew herself up) where I had approached an area (on foot) that made the hairs on the back on my neck stand straight out! It was a very dark portion of the forest; I was carrying a 30.06 rifle at the time. I distinctly remember that there was no way I was going to enter the bit of forest. It was eerie as all get out in there. I felt I was being watched, and I had an overwhelming sense of foreboding about the spot.

So, in a weird sort of way I believe there just might be something to Bigfoot; a visceral or "gut" feeling from a deep down primitive instinctual awareness. . But then again, maybe it was my imagination or I was just sensing a mighty big bear. I doubt that though.

I tried to find the video of the Down Hill... "Can you walk"... I'll try again...

Anyhow, Gus: Yeah, I hear you. The outdoors is something that I don't think many understand... even with MTB trails... they are usually in controlled park areas... vs... Mt. St. Helen...

I was in Colorado this summer.. Mt. Evans... and although this mountain is highly traveled the wildness of it all amazed me. Many people travel it by car...

Very few people, like the rock climbers and fisherman that I saw, hike it.

I see this states as an Ant Farm, if u will...

What I mean is that we travel from city to city on highways... not venturing outdoors much... (speaking in general terms). The rich dirt with earth worms would be the outdoors.. ...

so much for metaphors or analogies.

** Gus, I'm sad and sorry to hear she won't let you have a MTB (if that is still the case).
