Years ago I bought a Lezyne pump with a screw-on chuck for that very reason of needing something that would fit a narrow space. As others have pointed out, there's no harm in looking for a pump with a connector that fits better. Or just buy a new hose and connector, and use it to make your current pump hose twice as long.
