I took it out for a ride tonight. I rode about 5 miles on a variety of surfaces. On a smooth road, I can feel the rhythmic wobble that will vary with speed. It is only slight, but it's there. On rougher textures, other bumps and such overshadow the wobble. If I look down at it, though, it's still wobbling!
I'll look to replace the rear one soon, and will be hopeful that the replacement mounts straighter (Conti Speed Rides mounted straight on this same wheel, so I know the rim is good).
if you think there is any chance that tire might blow out... mount it on the REAR wheel... it's not fun when a front tire blows... nope, not one bit.
probably just a funky lay-up from the factory... seen many.
