Bothers me they use this wording to describe the bicycle in the article. Other place in article calling it a motorized bicycle.

This isn't really a problem as long as they are giving real facts about the accident and or the equipment. Ebikes are so unusual to many people it isn't unusual to include that in the article. Which they seemed to do.
This is really sad for the family.
