it's been a while since i lived in that area, west of richmond
out highway 60, but i recall once off the main highways,
good single lane roads. no shoulder, but light traffic.

i would probably pick a route that went just south of lynchburg.
maybe could overnight in danville and farmville, need to
google lodging.

60 into richmond from the west is built up, lotsa traffic
but wide road and good shoulder. there are alternate
routes off of 60, but i don't recall all the street names.
