My wife and I used Lake CX125 shoes. Mine are about 10 years old, and were used for commuting, recreational riding, and long distance touring. During this period we probably averaged 3,000 miles a year. Mine are getting pretty worn, and I would buy another pair if they still made that model. The nice thing about them was they were set up for both the 3-bolt Look pedals or Shimano SPD pedals.
