I use the Bontrager Flash 800 lumen light for my daytime running light. I run it in flash mode and I have no idea what the intensity of the flash is but it’s bright.

I was initially going to respond that it probably matters on whether you ride on MUPs or roads, but I have noticed that when I ride with a flashing light on a MUP, I have a lot less problem with people cycling towards me wandering into my side of the path. Do note that I have not yet ridden with my current light on a MUP but have other lights that I’ve used for daytime riding on paths that are not as bright as my Bontrager light.

Most of my riding is on the road and most of the roads are 55mph rural-ish highways. There, almost daily, the bright flashing light changes behavior of drivers on cross streets. I can see that they see me and I can see a lot less attempts that could turn into dangerous left or right hooks. So for road riding, I’d have to same I’m an enthusiastic believer in high bright, sharp edged flashing lights on the front.
