Whippets are just shrunken English greyhounds. Not surprised you couldn't beat it in a sprint.

I always chuckle when people use that "I just sprint away" line. Yeah. And if at the end of the sprint there is another dog? And at the end of that sprint, another?

On the other hand about a week ago i saw a miniature dachshund about 100 yards ahead and 30 yards off the road, on its front porch. I spooled up and roared ... big fun. I figured it couldn't cover that much distance on such stubby legs .... but it was close.

The dog probably had to cover 250 yards for my 150, and I was already rolling, and it was only a few miles into the ride .... first dog I have outsprinted since about 2002.

If it had had legs longer than my fingers .............. but it didn't.
