3. Depends how steep/long the climbing is. For 1-3% grades the wind factor is still significant.

2. Sure. Being close to the treeline can do it. I was also on the Greenway, which was paved over an old train line that was trenched below street level. That seems to channel the wind so that it's either a direct tail or a direct head... it wasn't a direct headwind for me today.
3. Depends on how Fatty McFatFat you are.
