I just apply a coat of car wax 3-4 times a year.

The finishes on all our bikes look very good. My wife's 6-year old touring bike just turned over 19,000 miles. It is ridden in all kinds of weather conditions, and other Than a few scratches, looks like it is new.

Ordinary car wax does a good job.
