turn the damned clamp around.... slot aligned with slot...

why the heck do people think that not having the slots aligned is somehow better? all that does is REDUCE clamping force via friction.

seriously... TURN THE CLAMP 180 degrees... ALIGN THE SLOTS.

one other thing... that clamp on the CAADX... notice anything different from the superX's clamp? it's WIDER, which REDUCES clamp zone pressure! looks like it's stretched rather than applied force, too... the sides of the clamp actually see less clamp force if the ears begin to bend like the pic shows.... toss that turkey in the recycle bin. that clamp may be your biggest issue...

and i sold my thompson seat post... too slippery satin finish on it, IMO....... i see lots of them for sale! sure look cool though, eh? i used a decent QR clamp on that post, and sold it with a bike... good riddance.

i just had a discussion with a dutch rider that claimed his Cinelli was the best bike he had... his REASON was telling... he liked the brand name, and the color.... his FUJI rides much better, came to find out, after questioning him further... 531 reynolds vs. CF/aluminum frame.... Reynolds frames always feel too stiff to me... him too... Columbus rides smoother, but seems to not have as much snob appeal....

less surface contact area will produce higher clamping force per square inch.......

i turned the dutch rider on to Strawberry frames... he was still drooling when i jumped off that forum... seems AMERICAN bikes are more prized in his country.... but the Cinellis and Colnagos still sell for more... hoo boy, huh?
