Thanks very much for the picture help neilspinney & Aubergine.

a) yes, it is a real Flandria in that that is how it would have been sold new. appears to be one of the base model bicycles contract built in Portugal during the "bike boom." prior to its present respray it would have had lining on the lugs and additional transfers. finishes as this time included opaque white wtih black trim, bright opaque orange with black trim, deep blue flambouyant with black trim and deep green flambouyant with black trim. the blue ones received white lining and the green ones gold.

b) it would have been kitted with a cottered steel chainset when new and would have had the distinctive Flandria bottom bracket set where the fixed cup is domed. the center section of the spindle would have been marked in small block letters thusly -
FLANDRIA

MADE IN PORTUGAL

the forum had a post from someone at Flandria about three years back who spoke about having these cycles made. a mixte version of this model was also offered.

c) the forum has had a number of posts on these including several restorations. of the latter a green mixte was probably the finest. just spent a few minutes looking for its thread without success. forum member non-fixie has this one which someone painted up as a Raleigh. his detail photos show what your original fork would have looked like and also show the distinctive Flandria fixed bottom bracket cup. your frame would have had all of these braze-ons ex-works but the person who performed the respray must have removed them. such was the fashion ca. 1970. note also the similarity of serial number. http://m.bikeforums.net/showpost.php...33&postcount=1
