Bikes: Fuji Touring, Novara Randonee

May I respectfully disagree with the "OP brought up concerns" point? I think the main point of contention has been whether a steel rack rusting is a valid concern for a bike tourist. For equipment that's going to used, or left, outside in all kinds of weather, steel is going to rust. There are still good reasons to use a steel rack, including the weight bearing capacity.

OP was asked repeatedly if the rust was cosmetic or more serious, and, at least as far as I can tell, hasn't answered that question yet. OP also has not acknowledged, in my reading, several ways to deal with the protective coating being worn away.

Despite the face moderators don't need my approval, I'll admit the sniping has gotten out of hand. Nevertheless, I think asking questions and pointing out non-responses such as these are legitimate questions, especially when somebody who appears more concerned with appearance than function says, "Don't buy this" of a product many of us respect and recommend.
