Bikes: 1978 Trek TX700; 1978/79 Trek 736; 1984 Specialized Stumpjumper Sport; 1984 Schwinn Voyageur SP; 1985 Trek 620; 1985 Trek 720; 1986 Trek 400 Elance; 1987 Schwinn High Sierra; 1990 Miyata 1000LT

I haven't put a bike together since last fall. I haven't worked on a bike with side pulls in literally years.

Recently Flog00 scored a 1978 Trek TX700; it didn't work out for him, so he offered it to me. I've been looking for one of these for quite some time- The TX700 is Trek's original 531 framed bike. This was the geometry for the early Treks.

I'm shocked at how much effort I've had to put into this- the amount of trouble I've had and the terrible, terrible things I've done... But the bike is definitely coming along.

The frame:

And the bike as it's built right now-

I think there are some changes coming, but right now it's built with Superbe brakes and levers, Cyclone derailleurs, Suntour Barcons, Stronglight 99BIS crankset, "jim blackburn" rear rack, Vetta front rack, Suntour sealed bearing hubs, Wolber Model 58 rims- 40 spoke rear, Avocet seat post, Avocet Touring II saddle, 60mm Nitto Technomic stem, and Sakae CT Signature bars.
