Eh, for me, there is no penalty for being late, either to work or home. The show doesn't start at work without me and I'm not trying to pick kids up from anything. But for most people, being late maybe can be dealt with, but having no idea when you'll arrive is a huge issue, it doesn't allow you to make alternate arrangements. So LA desperately needs people to ride mass transit but, practically speaking, a lot of people can't do it because of organizational **** like this. Makes me frustrated because of the impact on the environment, the viability of LA as a place to live & the toll it takes on infrastructure to have everyone driving everywhere. The cost of housing is so high that many people are forced to commute, it becomes a vicious circle.

Anyway, done with that, who wants to spend their morning venting?

Speaking of wheels, I'm thinking of lightening the mtb with carbon wheels, carbon seatpost and carbon bars. Need to do the math to see how much I can shave weight-wise and whether it's worth it. Complete sacrilege to current MTB fashion but I think I'm taking the dropper post off the bike. I'll keep it for the day that I start doing more aggressive stuff but right now I'm more into mellow stuff that's better to learn on and I think a little less weight for climbing would be nice.

I got a fat Amazon gift card from a client last Christmas and literally have been unable to come up with anything I want from Amazon. I know! Amazon sells everything. But not so far the stuff I want- IRC tires, Rapha kit, aerotesting, wine, travel, coffee at Peet's with friends.

So we'll see if maybe they have some mtb stuff. This gift card has been hanging over my head for almost a year now. Gotta find a use for it.
