I am building up a bike from the from up for the 1st time - this bike was given to me by a neighbor who has several Vitus' that he's built himself so I suspect it may be a Vitus (doesn't have the same screw/nut that hold the post in place seen in many Vitus' however) but not sure and I have a question...

I bought a 27.2 seat post that slides in the post with a slight bit of resistance...not too little, not too much. Its not loose but its not difficult to slide the seat post in/out. There is a bolt that tightens around the post and seems to keep it pretty tight and the length of the post seems to hit the bottom of the seat post tube. There is a really small space where the lip of the correct size seat collar might fit, but not sure if I need one. Or possibly a really thin metal shim to make it even more snug...or some tape...not sure.
