You've written about yourself, why you've taken the car-free option, and detailed your experiences with that. Even the most ascerbic critic here, I-Like-To-Bike, has posted more than several pictures of himself and his bicycles. Living proof, if you like, that he, you, me, Machka, wipekitty, and others actually do ride bicycles, and can write about their experiences on them.
Quite a few of us have lived car-free for extended periods of our lives, and can draw on that experience to suggest why certain things won't or will work.
The poster in question? Not so much.
Anyway, I am off for a bike ride with Machka. 100 miles visiting a town that is remote and rural...
I'm a trusting soul, and I actually believe you sometimes ride 100+ miles at a time, but really, there's no proof of it. Anybody could make that claim, and just because we see lots pictures of you on the road doesn't mean you went more than 10 miles. Why are you more credible than tandempower? I don't agree with all his ideas but it never occurred to me to doubt that he rides and camps and so on, as he claims.
But then, as I say, I'm a trusting soul...
