You might have a point. Still they know more about Brevets and Randonneuring than many of us do so at least some of their contentions can be based on experience. In other words their statements match what others that do ride such distance experience. In other words they give us enough information to check there contention. Can't be said for everyone.
What do we "know" about the other poster?
