There is cultural tension with transportation biking as well as transit still, despite all the gains made toward normalization. There is a tenacious culture of automotive-supremacy that is really just another expression of supremacy like any other. I don't really mind if some people find driving to be a superior form of transportation or lifestyle, but it is a barrier to expanding LCF as a general solution to environmental and social-economic problems (note that when I just mention this, it is likely that several posters will swoop in to debate and attack the very mention; which is a perfect illustration that there is a culture war against LCF. If there wasn't, I would be able to mention that driving is problematic without being attacked, the same as I can mention that there are problems with littering that would get better if people would not throw trash on the ground).
