I moved to SoCal in 93 and of course in short order some of the guys from work took me golfing (first time ever on golf course).
I had trouble even hitting the ball when using the driver and one shot almost sent a duck in a pond to meet his maker. I didn't know it at the time but I should have immediately gone to an LBS and bought a bike because the following couple of years of golfing I showed virtually no improvement and now I owned a bunch of expensive sticks with metal wedges at the bottom
