I didn't have a replacement but I broke my hip in a crash a year ago and have a pin holding it together (more like a post and beam). I am back to normal riding with no noticeable impact. Like the doc mentioned above I am more careful about crashing now and am leery of wet pavement. I'm 69 and retired so I can pick and choose when I go out.
