A few weeks back I was greasing a hub at the bike co-op and when I went to insert the ball bearings, one of the people there gave me a sealed unit that had the bearings in it. Obviously very easy to work with and now I'd like to replace my loose bearings as they wear out with sealed units....

What are you replacing with what?
What do you mean by ”sealed unit”?
Are you replacing an unsealed cartridge bearing with a sealed cartridge bearing?
Or is what what you call a ”sealed unit” nothing more than a caged bearing?
Can’t think of any cup & cone hub where the bearings would be easily replaced with a cartridge bearing.
