My question is - how do you know what size to buy? I asked at two bike shops and the employees didn't know what size either. Are all 27 inch then same or all 700c the same or are there separate sizes for manufacturers etc....
All right, folks, I think it is pretty clear that WGB was talking about caged bearings. Let’s quit ragging on him or her and be thankful he/she is trying to learn. That is a GOOD thing.
[MENTION=466491]WGB[/MENTION], your question is actually a good one, because there is little consistency. Most bottom bracket bearings are 1/4, and hub bearings are often *mumble mumble don’t recall off hand* but the only way to be sure you know what you need is to either look it up or take the bearing out and look at it.
