I've seen some specialized touring bikes with say 20" or 24" in the front for low over the top mounted gear, and larger wheels in the rear (26" or 700c").

Most of my riding is on roads, and I have no aversion to narrow road tires (25mm?). Perhaps I'll take the plunge to 28mm Spokes??? 32???

Oh, I did get that 30h rim. It should get built up shortly into a rear wheel. I think it should be the perfect compromise between 28h and 32h.
