Found a used Spin Doctor Pro for a reasonable price and so far I'm favorably impressed.
The clamp is pretty long, so I haven't been able to clamp onto my seat post on the first couple of bikes I tried.
The other issue is "front wheel flop" , which I assume is a problem with all single clamp stands. I'm using a bungie as a stopgap, but
it a pretty clumsy fix.

Point the front end of the bike down. Gravity will hold the wheel forward (unless the bike has a front bag/basket loaded up on it...then all bets are off).
