it's about 107 miles around. i wanted to circumnavigate it but rode 17-20 miles of it and (as you posited) that was enough.
i would really only consider it during the depths of the bitterly frigid so cal winter when the salton sea is positively absolutely the only spot in so cal in the (low)70's.
