From what it sounds like you'll be doing street trials rather than mod trials. If it were mod trials, I would agree with you about the fatigue, and dents/cracks. But since it sounds more like street type trials, you wont have to worry all that much about aluminum.

What are you doing for trials? Your definition of trials, more than likley is very different then mine (I ride mod trials)
